Jessi Gibson started her collegiate career at Chattanooga State Technical Community College in 2004-2005 as a catcher. She led the team with 26 home runs and 90 RBIs. Gibson also achieved a batting average of .413 and a slugging percentage of .916. she was named a TJCAA All-Academic Athlete as well as an NJCAA All-American catcher. After one season at CSTCC, she transferred to the University of Georgia. Due to a pre-existing medical condition, she decided to focus on her health and family in 2006. Gibson took a three-year break from softball to travel alongside her husband Mike during his professional football career. In the football off-season, she provided catching and hitting lessons to local girls in her hometown of Napa, Calif. Gibson has over nine years of coaching experience at different levels. Gibson joined the UC Davis softball coaching staff in August of 2011 as a volunteer coach which lead up to her full-time coaching assignment with the Aggies at the start of the 2012 season. This past summer season she was the Co-Head Coach of the 16u Shockers with Mike Briggs and Manager Jerry Hugel. In the Fall of 2013 Jessi will be joining Mike and Jerry as the Head Coaching staff for the KG Hitters 16U team. In November of 2010, Gibson was an inaugural inductee into the Chattanooga State Hall of Fame for her contributions in that 2004-05 season.
